The 2021-2022 season will conclude at 7:30pm, Saturday, June 11th, 2022, with Dr. Benson conducting Fractal Miniatures. Fractal Miniatures by American composer Roger Zare is inspired by his fascination with fractal images. Fractals are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. In the piece of music, he has strung eight short movements together that each reflect his impressions of various fractals, taking them as pieces of art. Also, to be performed is Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 and Arturo Márquez's fiery Danzón No. 2.
