The Oregon East Symphony invites the community to a free Youth Orchestra Winter Concert at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 29, at the Vert Clubroom (345 SW 4th St, Pendleton).
Led by Youth Orchestra Director Sam Ross, the OES Youth Orchestra will present an engaging program featuring the sparkling Allegro from Mozart’s Divertimento in F, K. 138, the playful “Plink, Plank, Plunk!” by Leroy Anderson, Florence Price’s lyrical The Old Boatman, and the spirited dances of Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite.
The evening will also feature a performance by the Preludes Orchestra, OES’s beginner-level ensemble, directed by Melinda Tovey, OES violinist and teaching artist, with assistance from Emma Norquist, OES violinist/violist and teaching artist.
Following the concert, audiences are invited to stay for a light reception with cookies and beverages.
This concert is made possible through the generous support of Pendleton Altrusa and Funky Pup Cuts.
